Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary is an achieved project on LEGO CUUSOO created by BrentWaller on March 1st, 2013. It is his second project to reach 10,000. Based on the popular Ghostbusters series, it was uploaded because the Ghostbusters franchise will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2014. The project has seen several support boosts, the latest one pushing to the 10,000 mark. It reached 10,000 supporters on August 12th, 2013.

June 7th 1984 saw the release of the blockbuster film Ghostbusters. To celebrate its 30th Anniversary in 2014 I present my rendition of characters Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore, their Ectomobile "Ecto-1" and the fan favourite ghost "Slimer".
The Ectomobile
Based on a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance, The Ectomobile or Ecto-1 is one of the most famous movie cars in the world, instantly recognizable even to those not familiar with the films. Decked out in all manner of ghost catching equipment and an over abundance of sirens, it's sure to catch the attention of any person, ghost or demi-god in the vicinity.

Ghostbusters fans around the world have shown that they want to see a commemorative LEGO set and you’ve now reached the milestone where we will evaluate the potential of creating a set based on your proposal.
What happens now? This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A "LEGO Review Board" composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We'll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards.
The LEGO Review Begins in September This project qualifies for the quarterly review beginning in September. For more information about the quarterly review process, see this blog post.
The review is a thorough process and from its start, and can take several months. When finished, we make a "go/no go" decision to develop and sell a product based on the “Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary” concept.
When the review is complete, we will inform you of our decision. If green-lit, this project goes into the longest phase of the project; the Development phase. During this time, LEGO model designers refine the product and develop it for release, we create the product materials (box, instructions, marketing), and get everything ready for a production run. This also takes several months.
